Class Behavior
It is expected that upon entering the science room students sit down and open their science notebooks for the day's work. When the teacher enters the room it is to be quiet. You are asked not to call out when answering a question, but to raise your hand and wait to be called upon. When your teacher is talking no one else is to talk. When it is your turn to talk, no one else, including your teacher, will talk.
No equipment is to be touched by students until permission is given.
Preparation
It is assumed that each student will always come to class prepared for the day's work -- always with paper, pen or pencil, and with his textbook when requested.
Care of Equipment
Vandalism in any form, however minor, can not and will not be tolerated. It is not necessary for young adults to mark desks and chairs in science rooms.
Each student is expected to check his desk and the floor around his desk for trash at the end of each period and to place any trash in the trash container at the door after he is dismissed by his teacher.
Books are to be covered and keep covered at all times. Each student is responsible for all damage that occurs to his book this year, and will pay for any damage to it during the year.
Course Requirements
Students will be graded in the following areas in science:
1. Major science tests
2. Minor quizzes (often 2 or 3 per unit)
3. Classwork
4. Homework
5. Notebook

If you are having trouble, feel free to stop in after school and discuss this with me. It may be possible to give you a little extra help after school. Don't be bashful.
This entire sheet is not intended as a bunch of do's and don'ts. It is really some guidelines that can help us attain our goal better... to learn about science.
